UKTI is scouring the UK to identify the best and brightest UK companies to represent the country at SXSWi. We’re looking for innovative technology start-up companies that are ready to tackle the US market,
UK Trade & Investment Trade Mission to SXSW Interactive 2013
UK Trade & Investment’s trade mission to SXSW Interactive will take place between Thursday the 7th and Tuesday the 12th March 2013 in Austin, Texas.
The trip offers a unique opportunity for UK digital firms to meet the broadest possible audience from the US digital industry, and from across the globe.
The mission will enable successful applicants to experience all the key aspects and events of SXSW alongside a suite of exclusive bespoke activities designed to help participants get the very best out of this important trade events. The programme is particularly suitable for SXSW first timers.
The Mission Programme
Prior to SXSW, missioners will be able to benefit from one-to-one market/event briefing sessions (delivered by our ICT sector team in Houston), pitching skills training and a networking event mixing with other companies visiting SXSW 2013 from across the sectors (including film and music).
In Austin, the packed week includes a masterclass on the US and SXSW, a Breakfast Roundtable, the Great British Breakfast, networking with international media, investors and US companies as well as the SXSW Trade Show and more. Some of these activities are described in further details below;
Digital Masterclass
The Digital Masterclass delivers a half-day of briefings and panels for the mission companies. Topics include how to legally set up a business in the US, advice from British companies who have successfully landed in the US, trends in the US digital marketplace, how to tap into US funding sources and how to make the most out of the SXSW Interactive experience.
Interactive Mission Breakfast Business Roundtables
Representatives from large US firms will discuss their companies, how to get into the company’s “ecosystem” and what they’re looking for in partner companies. Past speakers have included Microsoft BizSpark, Twitter, Google and Pepsi Co.
SXSW Trade Show
UK Trade & Investment’s stand on the trade show floor will enable the mission companies and other UK businesses at SXSW to promote themselves, network with their peers and undertake meetings with potential customers, partners and funders.
Great British Breakfast
UK Trade & Investment and partners will host a networking event with the best and brightest from the UK digital media industry along with US investors and international media. A quintessential full British breakfast will be served.
The mission group will also benefit from exclusive additional marketing support and promotion through SXSW’s key event publications.
Successful applicants will be able to register for SXSW Interactive at a discounted rate of $695.
